Everyday Makeup!

Day to day, I usually keep my makeup look the same, unless there's a special occasion or I just feel like switching it up! I gravitate towards a lightly defined eye with a rosy lip for everyday; it's so simple and pretty!
To start: I apply my favorite foundation (Smashbox Studio Skin) and then use a highlighter (Benefit's Watts Up) on my brow bones and cheek bones. I then use my fingers to apply a rosy peach cream blush (I use Clinique's cream stick in Rosy). I then lightly fill in my brows with powder and curl my lashes. My favorite eyeshadow for everyday wear is Covergirl's Tapestry Taupe. Then I line my top lid with a coppery brown liner (Rimmel's Scandaleyes in Brown). To top it off I sweep multiple coats of black mascara! My fave right now is Maybelline's the Colossal Volum' Express. Finish the look by filling in your lips with a rosy stainbalm. My favorite is Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable in Smitten. Now you have the perfectly pretty summer makeup!

Think Pink

Summer is the perfect time to go out of the box with your makeup routine. Trying out a look that you've never done before can be so fun, and you may find yourself falling in love with the look!
My basic makeup routine usually consists of brown liner on the eyes and a muted rosy lip, but I've recently decided to try something I've never done: bright pink lipstick!
The thought used to make me cringe; bubblegum pink or anything bright on my lips would have me emulating the 80s, but not in a good way. However, I started warming up to the idea of pink lips when summer started. The season is bright and fun and playful, so I decided my makeup could be all those things too!
I decided to look for a nice beginner pink and ending up buying the L'Oreal Colour Riche lipstick (the best drugstore lipstick) in Wisteria Rose. The color is very pigmented, but in such a nice and feminine pink that isn't too little girly.
I paired my bright lips with some black liner on the top lashline with lots of black mascara.

Go Green!

A couple months ago I purchased green eyeshadow on an impulse. I've never been super dramatic with my makeup, especially my eyes. I usually focused on a statement lip. But once I tried this smoky green eye, I was obsessed! It's such a fun and unique take on a staple makeup look for many. I bought Rimmel's Glam'Eyes Trio Eye Shadow in Tempting. I followed the directions on the back and applied the shadows with some EcoTools eye brushes. Once the shadow was on, I took my Mally Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner in Deep Olive and put a few strokes along my top lashline. I then finished it off with three coats of No.7 Fanomenal Lashes mascara in Black. And voila! The perfect fun take on the classic smoky eye.

Obsessed: Sseko Sandals

I've had my eye on these sandals for the longest time, and this past weekend I finally got them! I picked up a pair of Sseko Design Ribbon Sandals in the Beige leather base with Casablanca Silk ribbons as well as red cotton ribbons. These sandals are the perfect shoes for summer; not only are they super cute and comfortable, but super versatile! There are so many different colors of laces with varying fabrications, and they really can work for any occasion. Plus when you buy Sseko sandals, you are supporting women in Uganda pursue their education and thus a bright future. These playful sandals are truly fashionable for a cause.

Everyday Essentials: Mascara

For the longest time, I didn't understand women's obsession with mascara. I hardly ever wore it; I was more of a lip gloss kind of girl. Then in the middle of my junior year of high school, curiousity drove me to steal my mom's pink and green tube of that lash paint. And one I put it on, I became a mascara advocate. It's a makeup product that can make such a difference on it's on! It draws attention to your eyes and brightens up your whole face. How could you say no to that? So, ever since then, I've been trying out different types of mascara every couple of months. And just recently I've found my favorite mascara EVER. I wasn't even shopping for mascara at the time, just bronzer, but I saw the shiny tube and read the description and decided to buy it too! It's Boots No. 7 Fanomenal Lashes. The brush is designed with short rubber spikes that allow so much more product to coat the lashes than normal bristle brushes. This mascara lengthens my lashes in such a glamorous and beautiful way; they get perfectly long and separated with the right amount of volume with just a few coats. If you're going for a more dramatic look, but in the most appropriate way for everyday wear, I highly recommend this product.

Be(YOU)tiful

I'm a self-proclaimed beauty junkie; buying new lipstick or mascara gives me such a sense of satisfaction and excitement. And you know why? These products make me feel beautiful. I believe that when you spend a little extra time getting ready, no matter what for, your day gets 10x better. Maybe it's wearing your favorite lipgloss, putting on some mascara, or straightening your hair, all these little things can make a huge impact on your day and positively affect your outlook. When you look good, you feel good. And when you feel good, you're happier. I'm fairly certain it's scientifically proven. My point is, when I dress in an outfit I love and put a little makeup, I feel so much more confident In myself. When I feel like that, I feel like I'm ready to take on the world. And don't care about what others think. Dress up for class, put on makeup before you go out in public, curl your hair for a night out, flaunt what you got! It's your life and you deserve to feel beautiful.
